Announces appMobi support of multitasking in iOS4.

FlyCast announces a new open source library of demonstration mobile apps that were created with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. As a supplement to Apple’s HTML5 gallery, these demonstrations illustrate how new web technologies can be used to create world-class compelling mobile experiences, obviating the need for Adobe Flash on mobile devices. The gallery can be viewed using iPhone, iPad or iPod touch by navigating to http://appmobi.com/gallery.

Created by FlyCast, appMobi is a cross-platform rapid mobile app development and deployment ecosystem. appMobi offers users the ability to “develop once” using HTML and JavaScript, then deploy to a variety of devices and operating systems, including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android tablets and phones. Apps created with appMobi are native apps, fully compliant with Apple’s SDK 4.0 terms of service.

Anticipating the upcoming release of Apple’s iOS 4, with its ability to play streaming radio in the background, appMobi also released source code that will allow any radio station to create a branded, multitasking native app that will run on Apple iPad, iPhone (all versions), iPod Touch, and any Android device.

appMobi is a new type of cloud-based “Software as a Service” (SaaS) provider, offering its customers scalable, pay-as-you-go development and deployment tools, Amazon AWS edge-caching servers for hosted application deployment, PhoneGap support, analytics, in-app payments, and advertising. The source code posted today is offered under the MIT open source license.

This week, AT&T’s 3G network servicing the Apple iPad was breached. AT&T claims the breach is closed, but RESCUECOM CEO David A. Milman says, “While most everyone is aware that security is important, very few of us understand what goes into securing the software, hardware, and networks that contain our most valuable asset, our identity. AT&T’s breach is a perfect example of how at risk we are.”

RESCUECOM provides iPad users with five tips to protect their personal data:

    1. Turn off the 3G Network: AT&T has stated that there is no more threat to customers. However, turning off 3G wireless Internet service, at least temporarily, will protect an individual’s personal data from any further attack.

    2. Request a new SIM from AT&T: The ICC-ID number that the hackers breached is attached to each user’s SIM, the card linking an individual iPad to its user. Changing the SIM card would change the ICC-ID as well, rendering that information useless.

    3. Confirm any email from Apple or AT&T: The most likely threat to iPad users comes from what are called “phishing attacks” – fraudulent e-mails disguised as being from a trusted source. These attacks trick users into giving away personal information or into opening e-mails that may install malicious programs.

In this case, the e-mails would most likely seem to come from Apple or AT&T, as most users would expect. Should an iPad owner get an email, they should confirm that it came from the real Apple or AT&T, and remember that the real companies never ask for personal or login information in an e-mail.

    4. Change your email: The simplest solution is to stop using the compromised e-mail address. AT&T states the only information illicitly obtained was user’s e-mail addresses. Changing your address would eliminate this threat.

    5. Be careful what you use the iPad for: Using the iPad is, most likely, still safe. However, to best protect personal data, users should be careful what they use the iPad for. Avoid tasks such as mobile banking or anything that transmits personal information, especially when on a 3G network.

For those consumers who have not yet purchased an iPad, but were considering it, Milman reminds them that, “As with all new technology, RESCUECOM recommends waiting at least six months for the manufacturer to work the major bugs out of the system.”

RESCUECOM recognizes the value of personal and Internet security. Should any iPad owner feel that their personal data may have been compromised, they can contact one of our computer repair specialists for assistance.

    About RESCUECOM:

RESCUECOM provides computer repair and computer support, 24/7: meeting every tech support need including data recovery, virus removal, networking, wireless services, and computer support for all brands of hardware and software. Logic Wireless, creators of the projector cell phone technology, announces that it will be displaying the world’s most powerful cell phone at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas. The Logic Bolt V1.0 first gained widespread attention when the international press considered it the breakout hit of the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Both models are GSM Quadband handsets that project phone content onto any surface up to 64″. This is achieved through an integrated mobile projector.

According to Logic Wireless CEO, Aasim Saied, “Logic Wireless has firmly established its place in the global
arena for many years to come. Our smaller size and higher quality allows us to be more nimble and tailor more products to the consumers’ needs.”

In 2010 Logic Wireless released the Bolt V1.5 for a test market launch. More streamlined than its 1.0 counterpart, the Bolt 1.5 offers significant upgrades to the OS and software, as well as a much smaller form factor. These upgrades not only signify the technological stamina that Logic Wireless offers to the cellular phone industry, but also make the Bolt V1.5 the sleekest, most efficient phone projector produced to date. The new model is so small and versatile that it is being positioned as the next evolutionary step to the business and social networking arenas.

Logic Wireless is also gearing up to introduce an advanced green energy technology along with a powerful patent-pending high-definition projector cell phone, scheduled to debut in 2011. Given the innovation Logic Wireless has displayed with its early projects, cornering the market in green technology is sure to make it a mainstay.

Daily auction schedules, property details, photo and note-taking tools now available anywhere.

ForeclosureRadar (http://www.foreclosureradar.com), an online service that provides accurate, up-to-date information on the foreclosure market in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, announced today that it has released an iPhone application. The application makes information on properties in all stages of foreclosure – including daily auction schedules – available to users anywhere, at any time.

ForeclosureRadar counts thousands of professional investors, Realtors, government agencies and financial institutions among its subscribers. The iPhone application is available free to ForeclosureRadar subscribers at the App Store by Apple.

The new iPhone app allows users to:

    – Identify foreclosures around their current location using the iPhone’s GPS capability, or searching by map area, city or ZIP Code
    – Monitor foreclosure auction activity with daily auction schedules, and quickly find properties as they are announced by the auctioneer
    – Review details on foreclosures including ownership, loan history, value, equity, transaction history and more
    – View saved properties, review financial analyses performed with the user’s ForeclosureRadar account, and tag and assign a status to properties of interest
    – Take photos or make notes on properties that can be viewed later or shared instantly with team members

“Success in today’s foreclosure market is driven in large part by the quality and timeliness of your information,” said Sean O’Toole, ForeclosureRadar’s founder and CEO. “Whether you are an auction investor who needs instant information on the courthouse steps, a Realtor working with clients in the field, or an investor or government staffer doing site inspections, you’ll find this app invaluable.”

Andrew Katakis of CEMG, Inc., a foreclosure investor and ForeclosureRadar subscriber, said, “The data
ForeclosureRadar delivers, and tools they provide to make sense of it, simply blow other foreclosure services out of the water. Extending this experience to the iPhone adds to the value they provide immeasurably.”

“Now my team and I can enter any market, any neighborhood, and immediately and accurately answer the question ‘What’s the foreclosure situation here?’” said Michael Temby, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty who subscribes to ForeclosureRadar. “I can quickly and confidently establish my foreclosure expertise with clients in any situation.”

M.A.D. Partners, a global leader in securing smart phones and mobile devices, announces the immediate availability of Mobile Active Defense, the first 100% cloud-based and comprehensive mobile security solution
for the enterprise. Mobile Active Defense forces all iPhone, iPad and iTouch traffic through the device VPN to the industry’s first Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security (MECS) Server — a fully managed firewall that can either be hosted or managed.

Using zero footprint technology, Mobile Active Defense offers IT and IS professionals exactly what they’ve been waiting for; comprehensive mobile security that also allows for complete compliancy. According to M.A.D. Partners’ CTO, Rob Smith, “M.A.D. protects just about everything the CISO and CTO would want. Email security, anti-virus, spam and malware detection and removal, encryption, VPN, a granular policy driven firewall, inventory control, provisioning and of course, extensive reporting.”

M.A.D. Enterprise does not require any changes to existing security or IT infrastructure and can be up and running within hours. Moreover, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile support will be available in coming weeks, all managed through a single console interface and managed firewall.

As Larry Whiteside Jr., CISO of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York puts it, “We have had the types of controls needed for security and compliance with BlackBerry for years. It is critical that we demand the same level of security be used to mitigate against the risk inherent in iPhones, iPads and other mobile devices now that they are appearing in the enterprise.”

With the success and security that was delivered with the BlackBerry and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), many information security and technology professionals looked beyond mobile security and switched their focus to more pressing concerns. However, with the rapid success and consumerization of a myriad of intelligent mobile technologies including the iPhone, iPad, Android phones, Nokia Symbian and Windows Mobile devices, the lack of available security and compliance for the mobile enterprise marks the availability of Mobile Active Defense at a critical and opportune time for companies in all sectors.

Prior to Mobile Active Defense, and due to limited options, organizations have been piloting, or worse yet deploying these devices, using only the available controls from Microsoft ActiveSync and the iPhone native operating system. Multiple vendors unfortunately claim that managing these anemic features is “security.” With less than 50% of the controls offered by Mobile Active Defense — security and technology professionals have nervously been trying to figure out how to get back to the standard which they are
used to with solutions like BES. Now with Mobile Active Defense, they have their answer.

Now that jailbreaking the iPhone and iPad is legal, corporate enterprises have even more to worry about.

Until 26 July 2010, corporate IT and security managers only had to worry about keeping rogue iPhones and their associated security and compliance holes in check. With the latest government ruling, however, jailbroken iPhones and iPads present even greater threats to the privacy and security of corporate networks.

Winn Schwartau, Chairman of M.A.D. Partners, LLC, the smartphone security company said, “iPhone users can now download apps from anywhere they choose, not just the iTunes store. This signifies a far greater risk to companies who are trying to leverage the unique capabilities of the Apple platform. But Mobile Active Defense provides a strong, workable and automatic solution that solves the jailbreaking problem on corporate networks.”

To maintain high levels of security, privacy and compliance across the enterprise, IT administrators must have complete control over devices that connect to the company network, use company resources and store or process sensitive data.

They must meet HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, SOX and myriad other compliance guidelines, especially in the mobile arena.

With M.A.D.’s powerful Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security (MECS) Server, says Schwartau, “we can detect jailbreaking within one minute. That’s pretty cool. Once this clear violation of security policy is discovered, the MECS managed firewall issues immediate remediation options to the administrator.”

With Mobile Active Defense, the iPhone stays in communication with the MECS Server. If any company-defined “out of compliance” or “out of policy” conditions are detected on any of the organization’s iPhones, an immediate alert is generated.

According to M.A.D. Partners’ CTO, Rob Smith, “The administrator configures the MECS Server to inspect the
security state of the iPhone. How do we do it? That’s our secret sauce. How quickly the administrator responds to a remediation request from the MECS Server is what is really important. We give him all the tools he needs.”

The remediation response taken by the company is policy driven and enforced through the MECS Server. The
administrator can choose to isolate the offending iPhone/iPad from connecting to anything, pending further
investigation. Or he can choose to wipe the entire device with no notification to the user. Lastly, the administrator can choose to be notified by email, SMS or MECS Server console popup, allowing him to individually choose the remediation response.

The M.A.D. Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security (MECS) Server supports the U.S. Government’s NIST 800-53 critical guidance for mobile device access control and media storage, as well as those for ISO 27001 that map directly to HIPAA, GLBA, PCI and SOX.

Adding MECS Servers to any enterprise does not require any changes to existing security or IT infrastructures and can be up and running within one day.

Rapadev, LLC, the development company behind ProcessAway, has released iPay POS Credit Card Terminal for iPhone.

“Since we released our innovative solution back in 2008, there has been a proliferation of credit card apps in the AppStore,” states Randy Palermo, Member of Rapadev, LLC and lead developer. “While they all essentially do the same thing, they have restrictions or shortcomings to their operation. Most competing Apps require you to use a specific merchant account provider or gateway, or they don’t have a card reader available, or they are not PA-DSS certified. We developed iPay POS to address these issues.”

The software performs captures, authorizations, voids and credits. It utilizes multiple database tables for recording transactions and repeating sale information, such as order, shipping, and customer info. There is also an option to add a gratuity to the final charge.

iPay POS supports many gateways, including gateways outside the United States. A partial listing of supported gateways include: Authorize.net, NMI, Ogone, PayLeap, PayJunction, PayPal Payments Pro, RedFin, Skipjack and PayTrace. Gateways that wish to be included in iPay POS should submit their API documentation to Rapadev for inclusion in a future update.

Rapadev has worked closely with ITSCO to have iPay POS be the first Apple sanctioned application for the iMag Magnetic Swipe Reader for iPhone. The iMag is a secure MSR capable of reading up to three tracks with a bi-directional swipe. The reader is available for ordering directly within iPay POS or at http://cardreaderstore.com.

iPay POS has been coded to strict PCI standards and has undergone PA-DSS testing. The software has passed PA-DSS certification. “It was important for us to make the investment in PA-DSS certification,” continues Mr. Palermo. “If a merchant uses a non PA-DSS certified application, that merchant is opening him/herself up to possible liability issues if any sort of fraud or other security breach happens, even if the merchant or application had nothing to do with the incident. When a customer looking for someone to
place blame on asks a merchant using iPay POS if their card was processed on a certified secure application, that merchant can confidently say yes.”

iPay POS Credit Card Terminal is available in the Apple AppStore as a free download. The application comes with the ability to perform unlimited test transactions and 10 live transactions. Additional transactions may be acquired with an In-App purchase. Further information, video, screenshots, and FAQs can be found at http://www.ipaypos.com.

Android Application for Mobile Professionals – Contact: Finder – Allows Job Seekers and Sales Professionals to Find Contact Information on People at Any Company or Organization, and Automatically Add Them to Their Contact Database.

Macrosoft, Inc., a leading-edge software design and development company, announces the availability of a new Android application, Contact: Finder. Like Macrosoft’s other Android applications, Contact: Finder is designed for “on the go” mobile professionals.

How often has a user wanted to contact an individual on LinkedIn, Facebook, or other social networking sites using Web 2.0 approaches? Those sites however, generally do not provide direct contact information. Contact: Finder solves this problem.

The Android application Contact: Finder is specifically designed for not only sales representatives and other
professionals looking for a contact, but also job seekers searching for a hiring manager or HR professional.

Contact: Finder has this unique ability to directly connect people. The application automatically inserts the selected individuals into the user’s contact list on the phone, as well as their e-mail contacts. This eliminates the need to re-key data. Contact: Finder lets the user search the Internet by entering just a few keywords, such as company name, title, person’s name, etc., whereupon the application does the rest. Using advanced Web-crawling technology, artificial intelligence, heuristics and text parsing, Contact: Finder has the ability to often find multiple phone numbers and email addresses for an individual.

Once selected, the individual’s data is automatically inserted into a unique group within the phone’s contact database. Android then synchronizes with the user’s account on the Web, which allows for one to have instant access to the contact’s information.

The free version allows users to find up to ten contacts. The user will have to upgrade to the “pro” version if they would like to have any additional contacts beyond the first ten. Pricing and availability is currently being finalized.

Corporate licenses are also available, and integration with major CRM packages is coming soon.

Cross-platform framework includes support for HTML5, live video cloud services.

At the ad:tech conference, FlyCast announced the public beta release of its appMobi native mobile development ecosystem, a set of tools and cloud-based services that allow the creation and deployment of highly engaging smartphone and tablet apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. For the first time, ad agencies and web developers can create native mobile apps and ads using tools they work with every day – HTML and JavaScript.

Originally created to make cross-platform versions of FlyCast’s popular streaming media applications, the appMobi
ecosystem offers “write once – deploy everywhere” capability, currently supporting both Apple and Android
platforms. Unlike other cross-platform tools that only support the creation of an app, appMobi’s “ecosystem”
delivers value after deployment, with pay-as-you-go advertising, analytics, payments, streaming media content
from FlyCast’s content partners, and scalable cloud-based video and audio media streaming services. Because appMobi development is done in HTML with CSS, anything that can be designed for the web can be deployed as an app; appMobi uses no templates or “cookie cutter” forms.

The appMobi ecosystem also supports cross-platform trafficking of HTML5-compliant interactive advertising to
native apps. Interactive ads created using appMobi can be delivered across iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets with no modification needed. Apps and ads created with the appMobi ecosystem are full-speed native applications and fully comply with all Apple SDK 4.0 restrictions.

Development with the appMobi ecosystem is free. FlyCast invites interested publishers, agencies and developers to
sign up for a free account at its website (http://www.appmobi.com).

    About appMobi

Created by FlyCast, appMobi is a cross-platform native app development and deployment ecosystem for smartphones and tablets. It allows any web developer with JavaScript experience to create and deliver mobile applications using
only standard HTML tools. appMobi offers the ability to “develop once” and deploy to a variety of popular operating
systems, including iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7 (3Q 2010). For more information, visit http://www.appmobi.com.

    About FlyCast

FlyCast was among the first to deliver streamed entertainment to the iPhone platform shortly after its inception, and continues to lead the way as a top ten application on multiple smartphone platforms, delivering over 2000 channels of entertainment to millions of users worldwide.
