The American Idol producers have had to change the phone number for voting for contestants after it was discovered that the number they were using was linked to an adult chat line!

The number 866-IDOLS-13 connects the voting public to a sex line providing phone sex services and the reason for this error is that this is the first time the program has had 13 finalists.

Any one that called this number would have been connected to a ladies voice offering nasty talk at the rate of $3.99 per minute.

A HOTEL guest who spent 27 HOURS calling a premium sex hotline couldn’t pay his incredible £5,700 bill when he checked out.

Police in Germany have said that the culprit known as Anthony M, 22, is the same man wanted in Hannover since February, when he checked into a local hotel and “forgot” to pay the bill upon leaving.

The Hannover hotel is still owed hundreds of euros, reported German newspaper Bild.

But Anthony, from Leverkusen, explained: “I was sitting in my hotel at night and suddenly became horny, so I called a sex hotline.

“I did not keep track of time, it was like a movie. I just kept going.”

When hotel workers discovered the horrific bill, they knocked on Anthony’s door.

“They said I have good stamina,” he explained proudly.

But Anthony M was then quizzed by police too who have pressed charges.

But Anthony’s lawyer Burkhard Benecken blamed the hotel.

He said: “The hotel exhibited substantial negligence. If you do not limit guests from accessing high-cost sex hotlines, then you are being careless and should be responsible for any damages.”

Staff at a nature reserve in Wearside have been using a mobile phone to encourage two South American birds to mate. The Washington Wetland Centre is home to a pair of crested screamers, which use distinctive calls to mark their territory and attract a mate. However, the centre’s birds have shown no interest in mating.

A recording of a screamer’s call has now been downloaded from the internet onto a phone and is being played to the birds in a bid to get them in the mood. Warden Owen Joiner said: ‘They’re a prehistoric species and this is reflected in the way that they move – everything happens at an incredibly slow pace. Hopefully the recording will spark something in them and then nature will take its course. They are starting to react to the recording, which is very exciting, so we’ll just have to see what happens.’
